Don´t have my favorite photo.

The photography that most I like already is not in my possession and don’t remember when and where I had lost it, just I know that is not in my possession. This was my favorite photo because I am on an old train in motion and I am hung in an open door, really all doors were open. My sister took the photo with an old camera, so she told me “smile” and Flash… She took me the photo. In that photo I was with short hair and beard, also I was using a dark glasses and I was smiling. This was in six years ago in the summer of 2002; then I went to Concepcion for work in the distributing the telephone guide, and when the work finished I went to Negrete, a little town near to “los Angeles” and I was going by train with my mom, my sister and a pair of cousins. Was a travel very funny and in the photo is show the same, so is my favorite photo.

A country I would like to visit.

I would like know many countries in the different continents, for example in Asia I would like know Nepal that is a country of the ancient traditions and infrastructure, in Europe I would like visit Greece and the classic culture, in Africa… all the continents, in Oceania New Zealand and the Maoris. But the country that really I would like know is Peru and Bolivia and the northeast of Argentina. This is a geographical zone where it generates much of the history of the Andean peoples, the ancient cultures in Peru as Nazca or the Tiwanaku in Bolivia also the Atacameños and Aymaras in Chile and Argentina and after the Incas in these four countries make my favorite area for to visit because these cultures are the base for the actual territorial configuration and the borders only break the millennial cultural exchange. So I don’t want visit a special country but rather a geographical area with a common past and an uncertain future for the borders cause. Really I would prefer go alone to this zone because is necessary to find oneself and speak with people that not always understand why every time are people questions the same things and never happen nothing, and for answer some time is best to be alone. I would like do a great search about the migration in this zone and the actual cultural exchange, a line very little worked by the geography.

My best Field Trip

My best Field Trip was this summer, I went to San Pedro de Atacama, a little town in the second region, and this is a town with a long history, more than 5.000 years and with agriculture systems nearby to 2.500 years. I went to this Field Trip only for casually, one day the teacher Enrique Aliste realized an invitation to participle in a search about the irrigation in San Pedro de Atacama with a geographer of the University of Chile, he is Raúl Molina and other professionals of others Universities, as an anthropologist of the University Christian humanism, and a geographer of Catholic University. Also I went with others classmate from here. In the beginning I went for know a new beautiful place, but when I began to work and know the local reality I wanted to continue research about irrigation and the competition for the water in this arid zone and I became this search in my professional practices. Went we were there was really funny, we worked all day and in the night we drank in a pub called “All Natural” and there we spoke about the day work, drinking a delicious piscola and smoking a delicious cigarette and others things. Also I learned to dance “Tinkú” a traditional dance of the zone, was really an unforgettable experience.

Everyone are playing Travian

Some days ago, Gino, my best friend told me that he was playing a game on line about three civilizations; The Germans, the Gals and the Romans, the Game is called Travian. The play consist in create a little town with one of the civilization appointed before, then you must make grow these town until be a big civilization. When you start the game one soldier of your town say how you must do, first you must sow wheat and work in the mines and in the forest and you must produce mud, with this elements you can build barracks and others basics building for your survive. When you have a town strong with the basics elements, the soldier is leave and the civilization is on your hands.
This is a funny game because you can attack others town and stole their products for you, also you can training many solders different and make business with others players (who too attack you) so is a good game, but nothing is perfect this game is not the exception and sometimes it is a bit slow, but you can play while you work in the reports for the university. If do you want play do in travian.cl, is easy and funny.

My favourite piece of technology

My favourite piece of technology is the computer, my old and dear friend, I have got it near six year ago, and never had it failed, use this is really easy, just I must know the letters and some programs as word, excel, power point and others programs that I use in geography as Arc Gis, Idrisi and others less communes, just I must put the correct information and the results are good always. I use my computer very often, maybe every days, but it have some limitations because I don’t have internet on my home, so I must use internet in the university and there I get the information that I need, then I save these information on my Mp3 player (my other favourite piece of technology) and in the afternoon I work with these in my computer. Sometime the people say ¡oh that complicate! but I say they that only it is question of custom, and I am that.
I like my computer because though is an old device, I feel honey for it and I know how work it, my life without my computer would be empty, I wouldn’t have nothing in what write my reports for the university or play in my leisure moments. Really my computer is my favourite piece of technology.

A film I like

The movie that more I like is “The lord of the Rings”, I saw this movie for first time when a cousin told me that was a good movie, so I believed to him, and I saw the movie, that was two or three years ago. Initially looked like to me too much fiction, but then I liked the history and began be a good movie. I was on my home, with my cousin and my girlfriend; we were eating some french fries and drinking beers. That day we couldn’t concentrate on the movie, so we had to see this again and recent on that moment I understood the movie.
The movie is about the middle earth, a world with different species animals and humans, on this earth living beings are good and bad, but the worse of everyone is called Sauron, he is a specie of giant eye, all evilness live in him, he created an evil ring with powers that everyone wants, but that brings misfortune to the middle earth. So one representative of each specie decided who should destroy the ring and together decided that he should be Frodo, a Hobits who is a man of medium stature, taller than a dwarf and smaller than a normal man, Frodo with Sam, other Hobits, must destroy the ring and they have adventures very exciting.

The Fiestas Patrias.

The fiestas patrias are a special days for me, because not only mean the first the first joint national of government, also because is the only date in the year were every Chileans are units in the same consign. A typical Chilean on this day dance “cueca” the traditional dance in Chile, eat “empanadas and anticuchos” very cooked on this dates, and also many people go to visit to the loved peoples.
When I was a child I played with a trompo and watched the horse racing on Negrete, a little town to thirty kilometers south of Los Angeles, in the eighth region, there live my grandmother and still I go to visit when have an important date.
Nowadays I’m with my girlfriend in my home or in her home, sometime we go to visit some friends for drink and eat with their, sometime we dance but to she don’t like because she don’t know dance very well.
My favourite 18 was when I was 22 years, Two years ago, I went to Negrete with my family and my girlfriend, at that time we ate several roasts on my grandmother's house and on the banks of the river which is near of the her home, and all the men who were there present played football and we drank beers, was incredible.

My future and I

I would like work on the north of Chile with the Atacameñas communities, and their irrigations systems. I believe they have a beautiful culture beside others things with would be interesting work. For all this things I will need to be living on one city near to San Pedro of Atacama, where the Atacameños are living. Sometime I think that I will work in any others thing because not ever the things are as I believe, but I try to work on the line that like me, although maybe I should be more decide in that I think. But my ideal future is associate to the personal realization, I want have a happy family with sons running for a quiet places and with a job that allow myself have a quiet life without big worries, near of my dears persons. Also I would like to have a football field for my free times.

My experiences learning English.

I started studying English three years ago, when I was in third year, then I repeated the second level and I thought I never could learn. My first teacher was Jorge Carroza, he was a good teacher, but I could never connect with his class. That not means that he is a bad teacher, only that his method does not fit me. Since I repeated the second level of English until now, I must admit that I learned a lot, that's because now I enjoy learning another language, which did not happen before with my other teacher. This not only entertains me, also it is need for my professional development, because many articles are written in English, for to be updated it is need. When I repeated was because I could not understand anything about English, I couldn’t understand the grammar or pronunciations, but now I can read very well, I can speak a bit better and still is difficult for me to listen or to understand what others are saying. I know I am not a good student of English, but it is because before was difficult for me to learn, now that I have learned more and I like the English, I think I can be a better student. The easy to study English is that is easy to conjugate verbs, which simplifies the study, the difficult is that the grammar changes over the Castilian, but it is not anything of another world. In reality the culture English is not my favorite, I think that the commercial capacity is the most notable of them also the passion of them by the football into other things, but the lack of solidarity is a black point for them. Only I know two or three peoples speak English very well, though never I speak with them. As I said before, the English is need for my professional development that’s what makes it useful.

Desert cities are living on borrowed time, UN warns.

The people who living on the deserts regions are looking as the temperature is soaring, the rainfall drop and the available water diminishes, being the cities on US desert and Middle East the most affected. Another problem highlighted in the report is the salinisation of farmland and the glaciers declination on the mountainous regions. The foregoing are direct consequences of climate change.

My blogging experience

I had a good blogging experience, maybe I came a bit times to this class, but liked me the interaction trough the students and the teacher for a same cause, learn English. Is a method funny and practical for the students and ever have an improvement in the grammatical results, is really interesting, this liked me.
I didn’t liked, really nothing, sometime don’t have many computers for user, but is a technical problem and not a blog’s problem, so really don’t have anything that’s don’t liked me, maybe I came very few, but the activity in itself is absolutely educational.
Helped me learn English wrote and read the post of everyone because looking the wrongs and the good decision of the others classmates I can look my own wrongs and goods grammatical decisions, also was important wrote about different subject, this helped me to knew a news words and sentences as phrasal verbs that’s before don’t knew.
My favourite post is the Jean post when he wrote about Elisha Cuthbert, because for me too is the most beautiful girl in the World, also are funny him comments and spoke something good. Have others post interesting as some Valeria’s post, but for funny and for think equal than me, my favorite post is the Elisha Cuthbert post. But not is every good for Jean Because my least favorite post also is a Jean post, and is when he wrote about the students of geography take alcohol, I didn’t like this blogs because told bad of geography students, not everyone are equal although many drink in any moment, not is need show in a blogs less if is an academic blogs, is damaging for us.
Te best blog in the class for me is the Valeria’s blog, there she show different comments about culture, musical preferences and geographical comments, is a blog simple in its design, but in-depth in its contents.

Seventeen oranges.

To the protagonist of this history fond suck the oranges all day, but one day a policeman almost caught whit redhanded stealing oranges on the dock, really the policeman called Pongo caught he but he escaped to punishment. He used steal something from the dock as bananas or oranges, and was some easy for he, because he driving a pony-and-cart for a company. He used draw him pony-and-cart alongside the boat when those were unloading so he stole.
One day Pongo looked him pocket and saw something strange, Pongo made draw him pony-and-cart to one side and searched him pocket and found seventeen oranges, this was in a caught room. When Pongo went to picked one colleague, the protagonist ate all oranges whit peeps and everything for to eliminate all evidence so when came Pongo whit him colleague don’t had evidence for blamed to the protagonist so he was freedom. So the protagonist went to told that’s happened to Clem Jones, him friend, and he told to the protagonist that’s now he would sued to Pongo of wrongful detention, but this never was.

My first experience in a research out of the university.

Ever I did wonder when and where belong my first experience in a research out of the university, and the day and the place came more early than late. Was at finish of the last year an ex geographer of the University of Chile, offered to work whit he in a volunteer work in San Pedro de Atacama, second region of Chile in a project about the irrigations situation in this places. This research haven’t finished and it’s in its ending stage and in the next month I should travel twenty-four hours by bus to field of research for present the finals result. This experience had been very interesting because here I met a lot new experiences and I did share whit excellent peoples and visited some beautiful places and I met much animals domestics as wild, but one liked me more than others, they called it Zuri and was similar to an ostrich but is wild and a bit more small. Even it’s a not pay work, for my self is one of the most valuables experiences, also is very important in my professional formation and a beautiful chance for know others places and one culture where everything’s seems magic’s and well-balanced.

The Stadium and the fanatics.

Go at stadium is cool, ever is funny witness an exciting football game between my favourite team, Universidad de Chile and any other national team. When I was a guy ever went at stadium whit my dad, he ever told me “ in the stadium have real passion” and is true, when remember some games whit history immediately I think in the last time when Universidad de Chile got the national championship. Was in July of 2004 size four year, the Universidad de Chile met whit Cobreloa, in the first final they were tied without goals, that was in Santiago in the National stadium full of people, equal than in the second final in Calama, where the team local is Cobreloa. There also finished tied but one to one, so they went to penalty’s. Universidad de Chile don’t was the favourite team for be champion in that championship, but Johnny Herrera our goalkeeper was a real figure, first he caught a penalty and after he did shoot at goal and they won the cup number twelve for the team and I was in both games singing and jumping in the galleries, was really sensational, all the fanatics we went to celebrate, first in Calama and after in Santiago, but also it was celebrated into several cities along the country.

the geography and I.

The geography is a sciences very funny because integrate physical elements as cultural elements in a same case, so the studies result ever are different. Sometime the people don’t know what is the geography, so I talk, is a funny science and I study it. The first time that I did decide study geography was because ever did like me work at open air and this degree is a lot that. In the next teen years I want work in any places whit any people, but try to do help to this places and peoples for they have a better feature in a better world, I believe this is the duty of any professional. One way to help the planet is learning to keep the ecological balance and any geographer know that, but needs two elementals tools, one of technical type as some specific software for the environment simulations and others of legal type, here is need approve laws and policies aimed at promoting the environmental development. As consequence my favourite subject is the environment and the cultural factors that influence on this, for example the pollution responsible of the warming world. Not every time is possible teach to others peoples about the dangerous is for the planet the pollution and others practices, but the danger is real and the geographers we have a tool and we should user it
